Relief From Constipation

People go through many medical conditions they don’t want to talk about since they’re embarrassing. Another medical condition that’s very common that people don’t like to talk about unless they are in close circles is constipation.

What is constipation?

Constipation is a medical condition that occurs when your bowel movements, that everyone has, become less frequent or don’t happen at all. It’s a regular problem for some and some rarely experience it. Bowel movement frequencies are different for everyone, but when you experience some of the symptoms below, you may have constipation.

Having few bowel movements or none at all
Stools that are small or hard
Having to strain during the bowel movement
Feeling like nothing comes out
Vomiting(serious case)

The above just gives insight into some of the symptoms. But many ask, “What is causing my constipation?”

Constipation causes

Your constipation can be the result of a number of individual things or it could be a combination. Some people take antacid medications that contain calcium or aluminum. They take these medicines for daily heartburn, but using them regularly can cause constipation.

If you eat a lot of cheese, or any other dairy product, or if you have made significant changes in your diet, this could be a reason, along with not being very active. This is a big problem with society in general. People are too busy to exercise.

Certain medications you take that contain a lot of iron or if you are taking medication for depression, that could also be a reason for your constipation. Some people take narcotics as a pain killer, and that could be a factor too.

It’s recommended people get at least 8 glasses of water per day, and a certain level fiber to keep yourself regular. Not enough fiber to keep things moving along with water is a factor in why people become constipated.

What are the best ways to relieve constipation?

Constipation can be relieved many times without the aid of over-the-counter products. Simply eating more fruits and vegetables will add more fiber to your diet, and if you include more water, that could relieve constipation without having to go to the drugstore.

In addition to fiber, drinking warm beverages in the morning will help, and, if necessary, as a last resort, you can always get a mild stool-softener from any drug store to relieve the problem of constipation.
